EasyDeskTicker 9.4

This simple application allows you to constantly stay in tune with your favurite RSS feeds. It reads the feeds and displays them as a marquee on the top of your screen. Well, in fact the position of the news ticker bar is customizable and so is the width. Unfortunately, when I installed the program I couldn't understand anything that was displayed. I changed the font and I set the program to do antialiasing. Only then did I could read the news that were scrolling.

The newsticker is a bit annoying because when you click it, it opens a Web browser window which shows the news you click on. I would have liked it better if it required a double click when opening items from the RSS. When I try to reposition my windows by dragging their title, I usually click the news ticker instead.

Pluses: When scrolling, the text doesn't flicker at all.

Drawbacks / flaws: When you set the program to automatically run on startup, it also displays the configuration page. This isn't needed considering that you might have already configured the program.

In conclusion: It's nice to keep in touch with your favorite RSS feeds without having to waste precious time reading them. EasyDeskTicker allows you to read news while working on your computer.
